Chapter 14. Quail.
Regulation R 1 4 4, prohibiting the hunting of quail in the snow, is hereby rescinded.
Chapter 18. Turkey.
Amend Regulation R18-2.2 to read as follows:
It shall be lawful to hunt bearded turkeys only from April 16 through May 14, 1983, both dates inclusive, from one half hour before sunrise to 11 o'clock am.m. Bearded turkeys may be hunted by calling. It shall be unlawful to use dogs or organized drives for the purpose of hunting.
Chapter 19. Waterfowl and
Waterfowl Blinds
Add a new regulation to be numbered R19-1.1 to read as follows:
In determining whether or not stationary blinds shall be licensed to persons other than riparian owners pursuant to Section 29 86 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, the Commission shall presume that the correct depth of water at mean high tide at a given location as required by said statute is that obtained by using the most recent "Tide Tables" and adjustments thereto published by the National Ocean Survey, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States Department of Commerce. Any person requesting the Com mission to use an alternative method of calculating such depth, at a given location, shall bear the burden and expense of establishing to the satisfaction of the Commission, that such depth is in fact other than that obtained as described therein. PART IV. WATERCRAFT.
Chapter 28. In General. Amend Regulation R28-1 to add subsection (b) as follows:
(b) Notwithstanding any contrary or inconsistent provision of the Code of Federal Regulations now or hereinafter adopted pursuant to subsection (a) of this regulation, the term "recreational boat" as used in these Regulations shall mean any motorboat or vessel manufactured, used, leased, rented or chartered primarily for non commercial use.
Amend Regulation R28 2 to read as follows:
Occupied motorboats drifting or at anchor between sunset and sunrise shall exhibit at least one white light than can be seen all around the horizon for a distance of at least one mile. This provision shall not be applicable in areas where boats are regularly moored or in sheltered coves not normally used by motorboats under power for through passage.
