Corp. To Lease Space
O’Connor and Mitzie Young suggested that the corporation be an “umbrella” organization, nonstock and non-profit, with no allegiance to any particular group. The corporation could control use of the center and lease space to artists, Sursum Corda Day Care Center, the senior citizen nutrition program, dancers, the Rappahannock Chorus, the Rappahannock Players and any other interested parties.
“Mr. Carrigan’s idea is to have art classes, sculpture, iron work—that’s the type of activity that’s dearest to his heart. And if his desires are lost sight of, then I'm afraid we won’t get very far with the building,” O’Connor emphasized.
