Mrs. Violet Virginia Baldwin, 55, of Washington died Friday, November 12, 1982, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Mrs. Baldwin was a lifelong resident of Rappahannock County. She was a housewife and also assisted her husband in running the family business, Baldwin’s Grocery.
Mrs. Baldwin was the daughter of Mrs. Florence W. Burke of Washington and the late Gaberial Burke. She was the wife of Clarence E. Baldwin of Washington.
In addition to her husband and mother, other survivors include a son, Steve E. Baldwin of Washington; a daughter, Mrs. Susan B. Jenkins, also of Washington and four grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, Moses Burke of Maryland, Rannie Burke and Davis Burke, both of Manassas, William Burke of Arlington and Paul Burke of Washington and five sisters, Mrs. Helen Smoot of Washington, Mrs. Cecil Baldwin and Mrs. Janet Alther, both of Sperryville, Mrs. Mary Owens of Manassas and Mrs. Doris Payne of Kearneysville, W. Va.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Clore Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper by the Rev. John K. Burke Jr. Burial was in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Howard, Mervin Chaffee, Edward Hudson, Otis Nicholson, Warren Foster, Wallace Critizer, John Walker Jenkins and Jack English.
