who is left to flounder through the experience alone, unaided and without a clearly defined role? Attorney General William French Smith recently said “the plight of victims is a problem that we as a people cannot in good conscience ignore”.
In addition, a victim witness program enables law enforcement officials are put on call, thereby savings taxpayers many dollars. Storeowners can continue making a living by coming to court, after being on call, and return to their store, thus saving them money because they do not have to close their store, only to come to court and stand around waiting to testify.
No one is more conservative and more concerned about saving the taxpayers' money than I am. That is why the Victim Witness Program is such an asset to the community. It saves many thousands of dollars for the taxpayer.
Mr. Eastham has my sympathy because he could not get volunteers for his school. I would be happy to “train" Mr. Eastham in recruiting and training volunteers. That takes a special talent, and Mr. Eastham appears to have the time. However, 1 would like to suggest that Mr. Eastham not waste anymore time reading about Herpes and spend time in a more positive way instead. Possibly, he will have a fundraiser and raise the first $1,000 or so far the Victim Witness Program in Rappahannock County and Fauquier County.
No one knows how bad it is to be a victim of crime until they are unfortunate enough to be one. 1 prayerfully hope that no one in Mr. Eastham's family is ever a victim of crime, but if they are. I hope they wiU feel free td call me becauee 1 will come to their aid at a$9 time of the day night
