And the reaction to this latest tragedy? We hear on every street comer that he got what he deserved, that he’d been “running his mouth” and “trying to push people around” for three years.
We need to take a long, hard look at ourselves and our attitude towards justice. Justice doesn't come at the end of a gun barrel. It comes under the law.
Rappahannock was once a haven of safety, miles and miles away from the lawlessness, crime and violence that blots too much of this nation. We thought life was different here. We’ve proved that it’s not.
