Mrs. Jessie Ellen Wayland, 83, of Sperryville died Saturday, November 13, 1982, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alva Woodward Brown and the widow of Julian Earl Wayland. She was a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church at Sperryville. She is survived by a son, Lawrence B. Wayland of Viewtown; four stepchildren, Mrs. Kathryn Hall of Front Royal, James W. Wayland of Alexandria, Richard Wayland of Boston and Julian Earl Wayland Jr. of Lovettsville; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Gore of Sperryville and Mrs. Eunice Partlow of Culpeper. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Ronald Wiley. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Margaret Campbell
Retired Gift Shop Operator
Mrs. Margaret Atkins Campbell, 74, of Sperryville died Sunday, November 14, 1982, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
A native of Rappahannock County, Mrs. Campbell was a retired gift shop operator and widow of Ezekiel A. (Johnny) Campbell. Her parents were the late Thomas F. and Maggie Dodson Atkins.
Survivors include two brothers, Herman B. Atkins of Luray and Hugh S. Atkins of Sperryville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Wednesday in Culpeper by the Rev. Ronald Wiley.
