Macedonia Baptist

The Mary Magdalene Chapter 208, Order of Eastern Star will be celebrating its 31st anniversary on Sunday, November 20 at 7 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill. The Rev. Howard Frye of Huntly will be guest speaker and will be accompanied by the Inspriation and Men's Chorus of Macedonia. Mrs. Lula Wigenton of Front Royal is the worthy matron. Other area chapters and the public are invited.

Pianist Performs

Pianist Kenneth Amada, concert artist and a member of the University of Iowa faculty, will present a guest recital on November 10 at 8:30 p.m. in the Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music Goodson Chapel-Recital Hall in Winchester.

He will perform Chopin's The Four Ballades, Op. 23, 38, 47, and .">2. and Schumann's Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13. Amada also will conduct a Master Class on November 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The recital and master class are free and open to the public.

Homemakers To Meet

The Washington Extension Homemakers will meet on Thursday, November 18, at 1 p.m. at the home of Lucille Price in Washington.

The program will be “Saving Money with Homemade Groceries.” For directions to the Price home call the Extension Office at 673-3610. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
