Mrs. Harvey Gorden at the H&J Grocery checking station in the F.T. Valley said 26 deer were turned in there on Monday and 14 on Tuesday. “They’ve been nice sized deer, an average of about eight points. They've been a little bit bigger than usual." she said, noting that the largest animal checked at H&J had a 13 point rack.
Jean Lillard at the Flint Hill Storehouse reported 46 deer on opening day with 16 more turned in by early Tuesday afternoon. “We've had at least three 14 pointers,” she noted.
