Learn Vegetable Dyeing
Local weaver Kim Jacobson will give lessons on dyeing wool yarns using vegetable dyes from materials such as lichens, oak bark and onion skins. The class is scheduled for Sunday, November 21, from noon to 4:30 p.m. For information and registration, call Jacobson at 9375740.
Forest Grove
Harvest Supper
The Forest Grove Baptist Church, Viewtown, will have its annual harvest supper at the old Forest Grove School House on Saturday, November 20, from 5 until 9 p.m. for the benefit of the church.
The menu will consist of old Virginia ham and turkey, gravy and dressing, sweet corn, green beans, beets, sweet potatoes, baked apples, sauerkraut, coleslaw, pickles, homemade rolls and breads, pies, tea and coffee.
Dinner is $5.50 for adults and carry-out boxes and $3 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased from Mrs. Sarah Jenkins, Jenkins Garage, Amissville, 9,37-4692, from church members or at the school house the evening of the supper.
Thanksgiving Service
A joint Thanksgiving service of the Baptist, Methodist and Episcopal Churches will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church at Washington on Thanksgiving morning, November 25 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Merlin Shorb, pastor of the United Methodist Churches of the Rappahannock Charge will be guest speaker.
