RICHMOND—After a week of negotiations, House and Senate budget conferees agreed Saturday to appropriate $81,500 of state money to help Rappahannock County pay for renovations to the county jail.
“It was a worthy project and we were able to find money in the budget for it,” said Del. Raymond R. “Andy” Guest (R-Warren) Saturday night after learning of the conferees’ action.
“I’m pleased it’s in there, especially in view of the kind of situation we were confronted with this year,” said Sen. Nathan A. Miller (RRockingham).
