wo weeas ago, me Voeks boys won the state championship in races held at Bryce Mt. The regional event, which attracted skiers from Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia as well as from Virginia, was held at Bryce on February 111.
Douglas, 17, a junior at Wakefield School in Huntly, is a member of Wakefield School’s ski racing team. His brother Wynn, 18, a former member of the Wakefield School ski racing team, is a freshman enrolled at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg.
In assessing their chances of winning the national event in Colorado, the brothers acknowledge that the competition will be a lot stiffer. “In any case”, said Douglas, “win or lose, it will be a great experience.”
