Middfe'^t,-’ (Jallety’s latest exhibition of works by four local photographers celebrates the artistic showcase’s commitment to feature camera art.
Proprietors Sarah Shorter and Dan Lewis will be working in conjunction with Charlie Tompkins, who has a studio at the rear of the Gallery, to add photographic shows to Middle St.’s regular schedule. The walls in Tompkins’ studio will always be reserved for photographs. But for the special shows, camera art will hang in Middle St.’s front rooms as well.
A resident of Washington who grew up in neighboring Fauquier County, Tompkins will exhibit a collection of water shots at the premiere photographic offering which opens this Sunday and is scheduled to run through early April. A river rat himself, Tompkins has spent long hours gliding down local waterways in his canoe. His shots of the Hughes and the Rush, all taken in the past three or four years, capture the soul and the beauty of those
