Commonwealth’s Attorney Douglas Baumgardner, who was out of the county during the aerial sweep last Tuesday, issued a statement this week, acknowledging that “an intensive investigation of drug related activity and manufacturing” had been conducted here under the supervision of the Virginia State Police. Noting that two arrest warrants have been issued to date, Baumgardner said he is awaiting the results of the investigation before making decisions on—whether additional charges will be brought and—whether the charges, if any, will be placed by direct indictment or arrest warrant.
