Pre-School
Screening
On September 18 and 14, 9-3, a pre-school screening assessment will be held for all children under the age of five at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. The assessment will be in the area of coordination, self-help, movement, social and language development.
Rappahannock County Public Schools are required by Public Law 94-142 to hold a county-wide child find. The purpose of the screening is to locate, identify and plan an educational training program for children who have or are suspected of having any of the following conditions: visual, speech, hearing disorders, multiple handicaps, special health problems, learning and developmental delays.
The pre-school screening program is offered at no cost to parents.
Pre-school teacher Patricia Hottinger urges parents to bring pre-schoolers to the elementary school for screening. “It could make a difference in your child's growth and development,” Hottinger noted.
