You name it, they did it,” the coach said.
“There was no reason in the world for Page to beat us. Our minds weren’t on the basketball court,” McLawhom added.
There was a bright spot for the Panthers, however, Natalie Butler played her best game ever, scoring 13 points and grabbing four or five defensive rebounds, according to the coach. But Butler’s performance was counter balanced by Jordan, Tupper and Melissa Turner who all fell into four trouble early. And Jackie Bywaters for Page had a great night, scoring 29. “She almost beat us by herself. The rest of the Page players had two, three, maybe four each,” McLawhorn said.
Butler’s 13 was high for the Panthers. Jordan tallied 12, Turner nine and Connie Compton seven.
