Mrs. William Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duncan, Mrs. George Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Cary Thornhill and their brother, J. Stant Weaver of Washington and sister, Mrs. A.B. Honts of Front Royal were luncheon guests last Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Peneranda at Griffinsburg.
Mrs. Julie Johnston recently visited Mrs. Girtie Clatterbuck at Sperryville.
Ms. Agnes F. Hoidren of Camp Springs, Md. spent several days last week with her father, F.R. Frazier and other members of her family. They were Tuesday and Wednesday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Atkins in Sperryville. On Wednesday Ms. Hoidren, her father and Mr. and Mrs. Atkins and Angela toured the Skyline Drive and enroute home dined in Charlottesville.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Gotlieb of “Blackwater Homesteads” attended a citizens meeting at the home of Barney O’Meara last Sunday evening.
Mrs. Virginia Hoffman of Culpeper was a Monday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jenkins.
Mr. and Mrs. Neal Fridenstine and son, David and daughter, Lynn and Mrs. Herbert Caskey, all of Lancaster spent last weekend at Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Friendstine. David has since enrolled at Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal.
Miss Lauran Vam Wornbeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wombeck has entered her freshman year at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.

George Johnston was honored on his 84th birthday Sunday with a party given by his children at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Karnes in Culpeper.
