Amissville fire-fighters are taking time now to help save time, property and lives later.
Fire company president Carl James says pre-planning surveys are being made of 22 businesses in the two districts served by the Amissville fire volunteers. Amissville responds to areas along Route 211 in Rappahannock and Route 22ft in Culpeper.
James says he expects to have surveys of the Jeffersonton community center, the gun shop, Countryside Car|>ets, Jenkins’ garage, the Viewtown Store and Hackley’s Store and all area churches.
During the surveys fire volunteers note any special problems that might occur in the building during a fire. Floor plans and site plans are made and locations of valuable property are noted. An example James gave were the records that would put a company out of business if they were lost.
