The biggest birthday party around this week will be when Tommy Sehoppet turns 12 tomorrow. He will celebrate at the Pizza Hut in Culpeper with nine select friends from school who will then be secreted to his house to play "d ungeons and dragons” and to see a private viewing of a rented movie (to be chosen by Richard.)
The Schoppets couldn’t give too many more details about the party when our correspondent called Monday night because it was getting towards time for the Redskins game.
Speaking of which, we had a good friend at that game—he’s Frank Jenkins, Jr. a senior at Hermitage High School in Richmond. Frank’s dream is to be a Dallas Cowboy, but he’s been benched for the rest of the year after a stay at St. Luke's Hospital with tom knee ligaments. He was injured while playing football, a sport he has adored since he was eight.
Frank already had his ticket to go to RFK to see the Redskins play before all this happened and there wasn't anything that would keep him away. There he was climbing up the bleachers with his cast painted silver and blue and with a big Dallas star on the knee.
Shirley Hitt says she went to visit him while he was in the hospital and she’s one of his biggest fans. He’s played every position and she thinks he's the most valuable plaver.
