Authority are residents of Sperryville. Understandably, several have expressed reservations about having to adopt a “get tough” policy with their neighbors. They’re dealing with people they have to talk to every day in the post office, at the Corner Store and on the street. They don’t want to take those people to court, even while they understand and agree with the necessity of that course. When and if that block grant is awarded to Rappahannock by Governor Robb next week, those members want to retire from the WSA.
The odds are good that the county will receive the state money necessary to build a sewer system affordable to the residents of Sperryville. If that happens, the Rappahannock supervisors should start looking for new possibilities for members of the Water and Sewer Authority. They do not necessarily have to live in Sperryville.
