Playing a strong zone defense, the Junior Varsity Panthers almost pulled off an upset against cross-themountain rival Luray.
The Junior Panthers scored first and held the lead briefly before falling behind 3-4 at the end of the first quarter. Despite aggressive challenges that forced several tarn-overs in the second period, the Rappahannock girls still trailed, 9-7, at the half. !
With improved rebounding and a free throw at the buzzer ite Panthers went in front agaki by one, 14-13, at the end ofthe third quarter.
