Friday, September 9, the first presentation of a five part lecture series celebrating Rappahannock County’s 150th birthday will be given at 7:30 p.m. in the Gay Street Theater in Washington.
Robert Jacobs, a professional researcher and history professor at James Madison University, will speak of the topic “150 Years-An Overview”. A slide show7 will accompany the talk. Admission is free and all are w elcome.
Friday’s lecture and the remainder of the series will look at Rappahannock’s unique cultural history with an eye to her future and will
also be applicable to all of rural America and the changes which are affecting it now. The lectures will be held every other Friday evening starting September 9.
