Big Bang Needs Booths

The Town of Washington will host its annual Country Fourth «f July celebration on Wednesday, July 4. Festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with hot air balloon rides, food, films, a parade and more.

Booths still are available for craftspeople, artists, antique dealers,civic groups, food vendors and others interested. PrdSbds will benefit the volunteer fire and rescue company of Washington and the Rappahannock Association for Arts in the Community (RAAC).

• Have License, Get Sticker

All licensed vehicles in Rappahannock County other than school buses now are required to bear a $15 county sticker. During the supervisors meeting on June 4, an amendment to the county’s motor vehicle license ordinance was adopted. The new law also applies to vehicles that are garaged, stored or parked.

• Milk Distribution June 19

Households currently receiving food stamps in Rappahannock County will be eligible to receive powdered milk on June 19, announces Sylvia Kreitler, director of Rappahannock County Social Services.

The powdered milk will be distributed from the rear door of the back office of the Rappahannock County Department of Social Services from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. only. Due to limited supplies, the powdered milk will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. \ Green household identification cards must be presented. For more information, call 675-3326.
