Robinson Aide To Visit
Congressman J. Kenneth Robinson (R-7, Va.) will send his assistant, William W. Pifer, to Rappahannock County on June 20.
Pifer will discuss constituents’ concerns of a federal nature, such as problems with Social Security, the Department of Labor, Immigration and Naturalization, the Internal Revenue Service or others. He then will relay these concerns to the congressman.
Pifer will be at the Rappahannock County Courthouse in Washington from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Read For The ‘Gold’
While the world cheers on its athletes, the Rappahannock County Library will cheer on the children during a “Read for the Gold” competition that runs from June 18 to August 15.
The reading game is on an oval track with discoveries at every space. Special awards will go to those who complete the game. In addition, games, puzzles, crafts and movies will be part of the competition.

• Bring Oldies But Goodies
An antique appraiser of C. G. Sloan ft Co. of Washington, D.C. will be in Sperryville on June 17 to appraise the antiques of Rappahannock residents.
The fee is $4 per item; proceeds will go to Rappahannock Association For Arts And The Community (RAAC). Antiques brought in will be appraised from noon untO 4 p.m. at the Sperryville Antique Market, where owners Peggy and Arthur Smith have offered space for the benefit.
• Special Session Convened
Rappahannock County supervisors met in special session on June 13. The supervisors opened the public hearing, than motioned to go into executive session to discuss potential litigation involving a possible anwfaig violation. *
