"Literary loan” is the category used by the state to grant low-interest money to school districts. As of April, literary loan hinds are available at five percent interest. The board approved the request for expansion of the high school.
In other business, the board: authorized the assistant superintendent to sign state reports in the supervisor’s absence; noted the advice of council Peter Luke that they could legally offer personal property for sale at auction instead of by sealed bid; agreed to stay with their present insurance carriers who are tied to a threeyear price; noted that the roof repair was to be advertised for bids after the original contractor could not meet his quoted price; complimented Judy Burke, Cafeteria Coordinator and her staff for a healthy end-ofyear balance; noted that they were pretty much on target with their end-of-theyear budget projections, and paid monthly payroll and warrants.
The board set June 26 as their final payout meeting and determined to open the roofing bids at that time.
After a long executive session, the school board reconvened with the following motions, all passed: that the resignations of R. Wayne Lea veil, Teresa Me La whom and Michael Connifey be accepted; and that Nancy Scoggin be recommended for appointment as seventh grade social studies teacher, Rebecca Roberts be recommended as high school English teacher, and that Geneva Burke be recommended as the head cook for the high school.
Superintendent Robert Estabrook said that Mb annual evaluation was also completed in the one and a half hour session.
