this year Dawson says that Jenkins improved in all phaaes: catching, hitting and, most importantly, emotionally. “He smoothed out, played like a senior,” Dawson notes.

Jeff Porter, voted “Most Valuable Player,” “did everything for us,” Dawson says. His pitching won five out of eight games and he batted .415 — second highest on the team.

Prater struck out a total of 85, walked 45 and averaged 10 strike outs per game. He also stole 26 bases and was only thrown out twice in two years.

Dawson says that Porter has tools to be a major league prospect and that this summer he is going to “try-out camp” and might be drafted by the Baltimore Orioles.
