Tte. Piedmont Private Industry. Council awarded'1 FaOquier Community Action Committee, Inc. the contract in the amount of $200,000 to administer the Summer Youth Employment Program in Planning District IX - Madison, Culpeper, Orange, Fauquier, and Rappahannock Counties.
The program will serve a minimum of 120 economically disadvantaged youths between the ages of 14 and 21. Priority will be given to in-school youths between 16 and 19. Youths may work 30-40 hours per week at $3.35 per hour during the enrollment period.
Worksites for the five county program will include public and private non-profit organizations such as the area public schools, county health departments, public library, town and county offices, and other non-profit facilities.
The youths will be provided vocational counseling and occupational information while earning income.
