Don Dawson, coach of the Rappahannock County High School Baseball team, is proud of his Panthers. He refers to them as a “family” with spirit and fellowship. He’s proud of them finishing third in district competition with an overall won-loss record of 8-9.
Dawson says he is pleased by the way RCHS Panthers kept high morale, in spite of occasional losses and low scores. Teammates supported each other and became aggressive at the plate and consistent on the field, Dawson says.
As with any family, Dawson boasts of some players achievements. The team’s average was .290, and six men batted over .300... unusually good for a high school, Dawson says.
