Whoi the Amissville Ruritans asked RCES administrators, teachers, and students for help last week in announcing their annual - barbecue benefit, everyone listened—-and then pitched

30, is the mainstay of the Ruritans’ annual fundraising effort. This is the 22nd year for the event.

This year, for the first time, Ruritans George Kidwell and H. Ramsey Terhune contacted elementary school 7th-grade teacher Lynne Baines and visited principal Maggie Piper to propose a poster contest for 6th-and 7th-graders.

Mrs. Piper, in turn, asked teachers and students to get involved with the barbecue benefit. The result was 20 posters, each created and colored by the students.

The Ruritans were so pleased by the effort that, after selection of three winners, they passed 10 of the posters on to the Rappahannock County Library where
