consecutive year. A fire' works display again will ! take place on the grounds of Avon Hall, east of the county courthouse.
William and Ramone Carrigan, in their 24th year at Avon Hall, welcome Rappahannock residents to join in the festivities, which will take place from 5:30 to 10:15 p.m.
Balloon rides, foot races and a “grand special” horse show will proceed the fireworks. The ’OUrrigans encourage guests to bring a picnic supper, blankets and chairs.
To make the festivities fun and safe, the Carrigans also ask for some cooperation and caution:
• No fireworks will be allowed on the grounds other than those under federal permit. Officers will be on hand to enfore this restriction.
• No parking will be permitted on the grounds of Avon Hall except for performers. Park in the town or at the firehouse.
• All trash is to be deposited in barrels that will be near the monument entrance. Last year, the Carrigans had a day-long clean-up and a truckload of trash, mostly bottles and cans.
• Announcements and explanations of events will be more easily heard if guests are orderly and reasonably quiet.
