Dr. Lawson Pankey of Richmond was guest speaker at the Woodville Baptist Church on Sunday. After services Dr. and Mrs. Pankey along with other members and friends attended the church picnic held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice O’Bannon. Lots of good food and a social hour was enjoyed by everyone.

Jenkins Named To
Reagan-Bush Team
John Alderson, chairman of the Reagan-Bush ’84 campaign in Virginia, has named Dan Jenkins co-chairman of the Virginia Reagan-Bush ’84 committee. Jenkins, a third district Republican, has served on the Republican Party of Virginia’s Central Committee for Die past five years and on the Party’s Executive Committee this year. As a co-chairman of the Virginia Reagan-Bush ’84 committee, he will also sit on the Campaign’s Steering Committee.
In announcing the appointment, Alderson said, “Dim’s knowledge of the state, his network of dedicated supporters and his demonstrated ability enhance our efforts to achieve a victory in Virginia. I am very pleased and honored to appoint this fine Virginian whose understanding of modern issues, and their solutions is a valuable asset.”
Jenkins, 47, stated, “I’m elated to have the privilege of working with the Reagan-Bush Campaign in Virginia. I think the Reagan administration has had a positive effect on the nation’s economy. . . and a good economy aids every person. The Republican Party has given the American people opportunity — opportunity in a free society to determine their destiny.”
