To the editor
Wakefield greatly appreciates the long article about the school which your intern journalist, Alex Philippidis, recently wrote. However, there are a few corrections which should be nude.
For the coining year, Wakefield has 80 (not 20 new students). The net gain in enrollment (after subtracting losses of graduates and others) is about 30. Wakefield’s enrollment is at an all time high, and closer than ever before to the 400 student ceiling set by the Trustees. New appointments have pushed the faculty total to 36, also an all time high.
One of Mr. Philippidis’ comments was most puzzling: “If Lynn has his way with state officials, Wakefield students will soon be able to compete in academic contests testing skills in different subjects.”
I really said nothing of the sort, because, in fact, Wakefield students
