restrictions than they would even like to contemplate. And even though I recognize that they are tools in the hands of a national and worldwide conspiracy, employing community planning computer “games,” to control the planet and to steal our birthright, I would doubt if any of the planning members are anything worse than men being manipulated by their own special interests (most ef which seem to be pretty obvious...there certainly seems to be real conflict of interest), and perhaps just “going with the tide.” Of course there may always be a skunk in the woodpile.
If David stays in Rappahannock he will likely go on to be a judge, or to represent us in Richmond or Washington. And I for one would rather put my trust in someone who has been through rough waters and bears the scars, than a fresh water seaman whose life has been smooth sailing, Wisdom and maturity don’t come any other way.
This is not the damning of faint praise, I know very little about the man, but he has added something for the free enjoyment of the people to the Fourth of July festivities...the antique auto show. And he does not seem to belong to the crowd that is taking away Rappahannock County’s only town and Uniting it into a high class tourist trap most of us can’t afford (“Little Georgetown” as I’ve heard it being called).
In 1964 I don’t think it’s possible for a community to produce uncorruptable political leaders or even statesmen unless they pass through an area of growth such as David now finds himself in. Let’s give him another chance.
