Rappahannock County’s crime rate rose last year - but so did the solution rate for these crimes.
According to the 1983 Uniform Crime Report, recently released by the Virginia State Police, Rappahannock had a crime rate last year of 1184.57 per 100,000 people, a 9.3 percent increase over the 1063.62 per 100,000 figure reported in 1982.
The county’s population rose from 6,183 in 1982 to 6,247 last year, an increase of just over one percent.
