Two men were killed and a
third injured on August 30 when a car they were riding in skidded into a tree. No information on the injured passenger or on the location of the accident appeared in the News. Dead were Irvin Noakes, 19, of Boston, Va. and James Ferris, 18, Reva, Va. The driver of the car was not injured.
John W. Deal of Woodville was sentenced to 15 years in the state penitentiary September 2. Deal was convicted of shooting and intentionally wounding his brother, Clarence, in a family feud on March 31 of that year.
