Harmony Planned

In Hollow

“I’m excited about all the fun we’re going to have at ‘Harmonious Happenings’ in Harmony Hollow on September 18 and 19,” says Florence Vickers, an organizer of this early-fall event.

“We’ll start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with registration and socializing and break up into two workshops on ‘Wok Cookery’ and ‘Making It on Your Own,”’ Vickers notes. “Then, we’ll move to lunch, more socialization, and back to workshops.

“Seminal Patchwork will be demonstrated and we’ll tune up our taste buds with Virginia wine, peanuts, and sparkling apples,” she continues. “Dinner will be followed with a round-table discussion on ‘Adding Zest To Your Club.’ John Dooley will lead us in an enthusiastic campfire program, followed by vespers and sleep-unless you prefer to talk all night.”

Wednesday’s program will include continental breakfast, a fashion show, “Making the Most of my $,” and brunch with Dooley, who will speak on “Harmony in Harmony Hollow,” Vickers says.

The festivities are open to everyone - not just 4Hers, Vickers says. The cost: $26 total for two days, one night. The fee breakdown is: $1 for registration; $4 for lunch; $6 for dinner; $1 for continental breakfast; $4 for brunch; $10 for lodging. People may attend all or part of the program.
