The authority’s attorney said he sought the amendments in early August as soon as he learned the 1977 variance had expired.
“I knew it was necessary to do something,” he said. “The best course , of action was to amend the current county ordinance so that there would be no question the project would go forward.”
He said the project was slated to be started next year, after financing has been secured and the project contracted. The sewage treatment system is expected to be finished “sometime in 1986,” he added.
“There are a lot of administrative matters that have to be tied up” before project construction can begin, Baumgardner said. “We have to cross every *t’ and dot every *i.’ ”
