HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR A The Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation has openings for Highway Equipment Operator A at the Marshall, Va. Maintenance Headquarters. Good position with excellent fringe benefits, consisting of paid hospitalization, sick leave, vacation, holidays, as well as a good retirement system. Applications are available at the Warrenton Residency Highway Office or at the Virginia Employment Commission. Completed applications must be submitted before 5:00 P.M. on February 1,1985. Duties: Operate trucks, tractors and rollers, perform manual labor, repairing bridges, patching operations and other handiwork. Qualifications: Possession of a valid State motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license and the ability to pass a performance test on selected equipment specified in the class. A working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of light-duty, power-driven. Highway equipment; a working knowledge of the State laws and Agency regulations governing the operation of equipment on the highways; ability to make routine reports on hours worked or materials used. Selected applicants must successfully complete prescribed physical examination by a qualified physician. Salary: $806.42 monthly
