Cadet-Lieutenant Bobby Dale Gehringer II, a Senior-Officer at Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, has placed as a finalist in the E.B. Kennely four-year Scholarship Program at Erskine College in South Carolina. Gehringer was chosen a semi-finalist from 800 scholarship nominations from around the country and was interviewed on campus at Erskine College in December by a 55 member panel for the Honors Program. He was one of 24 finalists chosen to return to the campus.
Gehringer is a senior at the Academy, and a member of of the Student Council (vice president elect), the National Honor Society, Student Advisory Committee, chairman of the Student Recommendation and Promotional Board, copy and lay-out editor for the school yearbook, captain of the varsity tennis team, past member of the school band and handbell choir, a member of the United States Achievement Academy National Awards for 1983 and was chosen for Who’s Who Among American High School Students for 1983-84.
