Last year w as the first year of volleyball at Rappahannock County High School, and the team did not win any matches. This year’s season began by looking ominously the same as last year when RCHS lost their season open to Stonewall Jackson earlier this mnnt*1 The team broke their record, th Th, with tw'o wins over George Mason on Wednesday, January 23.
The teams played a double header in order to make up a previously cancelled match between the two schools. Rappahannock took both matches in straight games by scores of 15-13, 15-8, 15-13 and 15-5. This is Coach Carol Nowakoski’s first year with the volleyball team, and she was understandably pleased with the team’s performance in the matches.
