Mrs. David Vance (Grace Brown) Chapman, Sr., who lived in Sperryville, for 75 years celebrated her 95th birthday on January 26, 1985.
Mrs. Chapman, who is lovingly called “Chappy” now resides with her son, David Vance Chapman, Jr. in Richmond. She was honored with a birthday dinner given by her family on her anniversary.
It is interesting to note that Mrs. Chapman was born, reared and married in the home where she spent 75 happy years and who has many fond memories of all of her many friends and neighbors in and around Sperryville. She delights in telling and retelling stories of Sperryville and the people she has known.
