A pleasant vacation drive through Rappahannock County to the Blue Ridge Mountains came to a sudden tragic end Monday afternoon for two families from Schenectady, N. Y.
According to Trooper R. A. Baines, a 1986 Pontiac station wagon driven by Nitin M. Sevak, 44, was westbound on Rt. 211 at the Rappahannock Farmers Cooperative when it was struck head-on by an eastbound 1979 Freightliner tractor operated by Johnny Lester Wimer, of Broadway, Va., and owned by Perdue Farms, Inc., Salisbury, Md. The driver apparently applied his brakes and skidded into the station wagon, Trooper Baines said.
