Rappahannock News Special Writer Just in time for teenagers and others seeking summer work, Barbara Benton has published the Babysitters Handbook, a complete (204page) guide covering every angle, every possibility, every little detail of child care and small business practice.
Ms. Benton tells young sitters how to start their own babysitting business, how to set charges, get clients, interview parents and win the confidence of children. She even has sample classified ads to follow and advice on how to handle common babysitting problems such as parents who break appointments, come home late or expect the services of a * maid along with those of a babysitter. I like her solution to the problem of chronically late parents:
