Doretha Butler and Heather Kilpatrick were among 80 students selected from applicants across the country to attend the second session of the Young Writers Workshop at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.
During the two-week workshop, the young writers selected an intensive program from among four offerings in fiction, poetry, scriptwriting or songwriting. The instructors at the Workshop are published authors in their respective fields.
