Sign-up for the 1987 Conservation Reserve Program will take place August 4-15 at Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Sen - ice (ASCS) county offices.
According to ASCS officials farmers may volunteer highly erodible cropland for entry into the Conservation Resene Program, under the provision of the Food Security Act of 1985.
Producers wishing to put land into the program are eligible for cost-share payments of up to 50 percent of the eligible costs to establish a cover crop. The annual rental payments are for 10 years, beginning October 1, 1987.
