“This is the best year yet,” Mr. Walker said, attributing the parade’s success to the fact that “we’ve got a good reputation and we spend a lot of money for trophies and stuffed animals — we try to provide something for all age groups.”
The parade went off smoothly, but the situation beforehand was a different story. “We were really strapped (the FHVFD) for manpower before the parade due to the fire in Flint Hill — but we were able to pull it off,” said Frank Huff, Jr., chief of Company 4. He added that there was a rescue call just before the parade and an apparent heart attack victim on the parade route was transported to Warren Memorial
