will cause a decrease in the normal blood supply to the brain and a feeling of dizziness. Unconsciousness, or fainting, will occur if nothing is done to alter this condition.
This, the most common type of faint, does not require treatment. If it becomes a recurrent problem for your child, your doctor may advise avoidance of activities known to trigger a fainting episode.
Incidents require medical attention include:
• Fainting at age less than 5 years old.
• Fluid loss from repeated vomiting or diarrhea accompanied by fainting when sitting or standing.
• Complaints of dizziness or fainting when there are other serious health problems.
• Faints and dizziness which become frequent or cause injury.
