Cpl. Brunelli

in exercise

Marine Cpl. Michael G. Brunelli, son of Sheila H. Dwyer of Flint Hill, and Lance Cpl. John D. McKay, son of John D. and Helen F. McKay of Castleton, recently participated in Tridente 1986.

During the exercise Cpl. Brunelli and Cpl. McKay participated with their Italian counterparts of the San Marco Tactical Group in a one-day tactical amphibious training exercise and a three-day cross training period at the Capo Teulada Training Area on the southern tip of the island of Sardinia.

The cross training consisted of live-firing of every type of weapon in the unit’s arsenal, including tanks, howitzers and service rifles.

Cpl. Brunelli and Cpl. McKay are currently stationed with 24th Marine Amphibious Unit, Camp Lejeune, N. C.

A 1982 graduate of Fauquier High School, Warrenton, CpL Brunelli joined the Marine Corps in August 1982.

Cpl. McKay graduated from Rappahannock High School in 1984 and joined the Marines in August 1984.
