Leslie Merrill

Leslie VonBulow Merrill, 87, of Washington died August 1 at Bon Air Home in Stephens City.

Mr. Merrill was bom in Fond du Lac, Wise., son of Llewellyn and Marie Hartman Merrill. He moved to Rappahannock County in 1924 and operated Merrill Motor Co. in Washington until 1979. He was a charter member of Washington Volunteer Fire Co.

He was married to the former Ruth Nethers who died in 1964. In 1976 he married the former Dorothy Vance who died in 1985. In recent years he lived for a while in DeBary, Fla.

Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn M. Bailey of Washington; a sister, Annabel L. Merrill, and a brother, Earl D. Merrill, both of DeBary, Fla., four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted August 4 at Washington Masonic Cemetery by the Rev. John Burke.

Pallbearers were Gibson Wharton, Newbill Miller, Warren Foster, Michael Brown, James W. Fletcher, Steve Critzer, William Carter and Herbert Foster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Volunteer Fire Department.

Teresa Campbell

Teresa D. Campbell of Front Royal died July 31 in the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md.

She was bom April 13, 1964, in Front Royal, daughter of Shirley M. Dillon of Middletown and the late Joseph C. Campbell, Jr.

Surviving with her mother are her stepfather, Fred L. Dillon, Sr.; a half-brother, Fred L. Dillon, Jr., of Middletown; a stepbrother, Gary Dillon of Stephens City; four stepsisters, Margaret Chrisman of Fort Valley, Donna Ramey of Flint Hill, Betty Hunter of Front Royal and Bobbie Dillon of Venango, Pa.; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Kerns, Sr., of Front Royal, and maternal great-grandmother, Pearl Mays of Front Royal.
