and Mrs. Lacy Corbin and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Kelchner.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Baker of the Boston-Reva route have announced the birth of a son at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital on Friday.
We have word from Rev. J. Harold Eaton that the Slate Mills Baptist Church, on 707, will observe their homecoming Sunday on August 10. Sunday School meets at 10 a.m. with classes for all ages, and worship will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dot Bryan, a former pastor of Slate Mills and Novum Churches, bringing the message. Special music is planned by the choirs of the church. Following the worship service, dinner will be served on the grounds. This will be a great time of fellowship and renewal of friendships with former members and ministers. An afternoon service is planned for 2 p.m. The pastor, Rev. Eaton and his congregation invite the public to attend. In the words of Rev. Eaton, “We need more announcements of our religious services and are happy they can be published in this paper.” Thanks Pastor!
Our thought for the week: Opportunities pass; moments disappear; special people depart from us and isn’t it time we all think about the right person?
