state finals
Michele Elizabeth Dickey, 14year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lee Dickey of Amissville, has been selected to compete in the state finals of the Virginia Miss TEEN pageant Sept. 5-7 in Virginia Beach.
Girls are judged on scholastic and volunteer service achievements, poise, personality, appearance, speech or talent and formal presentation. There is no swimsuit competition.
Contestants must have a B or better average in school and participate in the volunteer service program of the Miss TEEN pageant.
The winner of the Virginia pageant will receive a crown, trophy, $1,000 cash scholarship, $4,000 college scholarship and an expense-paid trip to represent the state at the national pageant in November in Kansas City, Mo.
